Survey on indexing as a professional activity

Society of Indexers

SI has been contacted by David E. Woolwine, an American Professor of Library Services, who is researching the professional status and education of journal/document indexers. He is looking for people to complete his questionnaires who are NOT purely book indexers but who may work in library settings who are also NOT members of library organizations. He is looking for people who are journal/document indexers working in companies like information services providers such as EBSCO, or organizations such as NGOs like the UN. He is also looking for people who give time in a voluntary capacity in similar situations.

If you feel this applies to you and you would like to contribute, please use the links given in his email below. You can see the questions before you decide to complete the questionnaires. If you require further information please contact him directly David.Woolwine@hofstra.edu.

I was hoping you would be willing to distribute this to your members.

These surveys are part of a research project on indexing as a professional activity. They are directed to those involved in journal or document indexing. They are not directed to back of the book indexers.  Please fill out only the one survey which applies to your primary role. No personal information is collected other than that which you supply in response to survey questions. If you have questions, please contact the investigator at david.woolwine@hofstra.edu
