Current Medical Update / 13-06-2012 11:15am. /

I attended an appointment with Dr. John Cowen at 51 Sloane Street, SW1 today for the purpose of conducting a further and completely up-to-date blood test in order to assess the effectiveness or otherwise of my current medication regime which involves taking 3.5mg. of Warfarin daily.

It was discovered that the INR level in my bloodstream was ‘3.4’. This reading was not entirely unsatisfactory but was slightly higher than it should have been. It has therefore been decided to change the level of my daily medication from 1 x 3.5 mg. daily to 1 x 3 mg. daily alternating with a dosage of 1 x 3.5mg. on the alternate remaining days of this medication programme for as long as it is considered necessary to keep it going.

This should ensure that the medical procedure for the atrial fibrillation which affects my geneal health at the present moment and which is known as a cardioversion can be carried out without any further delay. This should be able to be done within the next ten to fourteen days under the supervision of Dr. Julian Collinson.
